Welcome to the International Democracy Hub (IDH).
IDH is an independent platform committed to advancing democracy and human rights by connecting international stakeholders with on-the-ground perspectives. We work in close cooperation with diplomatic missions, international organizations, civil society, researchers, and emerging leaders to address complex and evolving human rights challenges.
At the core of IDH’s mission is the issue of human rights in North Korea. This is not merely a political concern, but a fundamental question of human dignity, freedom, and the credibility of international human rights norms. IDH seeks to ensure that the systematic and ongoing human rights violations faced by the people of North Korea remain firmly on the international agenda and are addressed through informed, coordinated, and principled action.
IDH actively engages with multilateral frameworks, including United Nations human rights mechanisms, to promote evidence-based dialogue and cooperation. Through roundtables, joint initiatives, research, and public diplomacy, we aim to ensure that field-based insights and rigorous analysis meaningfully inform international discussions and policy processes.
We also place strong emphasis on the participation and capacity-building of the next generation. IDH serves as a space where dialogue leads to action, and where interest is transformed into sustained engagement. By fostering inclusive and constructive collaboration, we strive to bridge the gap between advocacy, policy, and practice.
Today, democracy and human rights cannot be taken for granted. They require sustained commitment, responsible partnerships, and consistent international engagement. Together with our partners, IDH remains dedicated to contributing to more effective and enduring responses to global human rights challenges, including the human rights situation in North Korea.
We look forward to working with you in pursuit of a more just, free, and dignified future.
Sincerely,
Kim Seunghyeon | Representative
