Monthly Program
Conveying the Urgency of North Korean Human Rights to the Diplomatic Community
On a monthly basis, the IDH organizes roundtable discussions at diplomatic missions to convey the seriousness of human rights conditions in North Korea. These sessions bring together members of the IDH team, young North Korean defectors, international students, and diplomatic officials, providing a space for informed dialogue and direct engagement on North Korean human rights. Through these roundtables, participants share firsthand testimonies, policy-relevant insights, and diverse international perspectives. IDH has conducted multiple roundtables with embassies in the Republic of Korea, and has also facilitated briefings and testimonial sessions for visiting high-level officials and international delegations.
By creating opportunities for young North Korean defectors and international students to engage directly with diplomatic audiences, IDH seeks to foster deeper understanding, strengthen international awareness, and encourage sustained diplomatic attention to the human rights situation in North Korea.
